Angelus Oaks, CA – An apparent accidental shooting has hospitalized an 11-year-old girl, according to authorities.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6000 block of Mountain Home Creek Road in Angelus Oaks about 11 a..m. Sunday related to a shooting.
A media advisory indicates the girl — who was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center — was reportedly shot by a 12-year-old boy who accidentally discharged a firearm striking the girl.
The female victim was reported in good condition at Loma Linda after being treated for her wound, according to the release.
THE INVESTIGATION
The investigation into the incident is trying to determine how the boy came into possession of the firearm and if the gun had been properly stored prior to the incident. (568)
